Building the right reputation through branding

Let’s set the scene: John Smith has been hired by a design group, and has just finished his first design assignment for a top international client. It’s beautiful, it’s hip, it’s current but it has very little to do with solving their communication problem.
 

While design is a creative field, it’s also part of a professional communication industry and as such demands skills in both critical thinking and problem solving. As a creative communications agency we all too often find ourselves confronted with having to answer complex business problems that not only require creative but also strategic thinking.

This is precisely why understanding our client’s needs (prior to starting a project) is both paramount and critical in solving the complex business issues faced by many of our corporate customers. Combine this with a deep understanding of the target market, (be it individual or groups), we are informed as to how best to communicate effectively with the audience.

Neither us as designers nor our clients can afford to ignore or alienate the needs of our audience. So if it ain’t broke, and our target audience tell us it’s working well, don’t feel the need to completely redesign it. Just give it finesse.
